"Oh, Man." I said to him from the ground looking slightly confused and absolutely bewildered. This man had bumped into me at the grocery store causing me to fall backwards and drop the majority of the contents inside of my store-provided grocery basket. As he bent down to help me up and pick up the items that had spilled on the floor I looked into his eyes and saw something I'd never seen in anybody else before.
This beautiful man, this beautiful salt and peppered man looking at me with completely beautiful and apologetic eyes. "I'm so sorry, ma'am... Jeez, are you alright?" It took me a minute to realize he was talking to me. I shook my head quickly and regained my train of thought, "Yeah, I'm fine... I probably should have been paying better attention to where I was going anyways." I said looking at him sheepishly. "Yeah you should've" He said in the straightest voice and tone I've ever heard, and then he burst out into laughter with an "I'm just joking! You should have seen the look on your face!"
I smiled and laughed along with him, because I knew I was probably making a horrible face.
"Sorry, haha. Didn't mean to scare ya, how about we grab some dinner?"
"I normally don't go out to dinner with men who run over me in the grocery store."
"I normally don't run people over in the grocery store."
"I would say true, but for all I know this could be your only pick up line."
"Only? Ouch, that hurts!" He laughs and smiles at me.
We talk for a little more and he persuades me to go home with him.
